Busy fingers help focus minds.  A fidgit toy can be a pleasure to play with or a welcome distraction, but frequently its use is more of a background activity, almost sub-concious. Such non-directed activity can in fact focus the mind.  The pressure of sensory input can be relentless to those with sensory processing disorder, a fidgit is a little like a pressure valve, allowing a trickle of controlled sensory feedback.
